about m.e. luka
I hold a research fellowship at the University of Alberta’s Just Powers and Future Energy Systems initiatives, and am a recent Banting Postdoctoral Fellow and current Research Associate at Sensorium Centre for Digital Arts & Technology in the School of Arts, Media, Performance and Design at York University, and a Visiting Scholar at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University.
Also a recent PhD, and a long-time producer, director and consultant in the domains of art, culture and digital media, I work with other members of Narratives in Space and Time Society, an artist group we founded in 2012. I have been fortunate to publish in several scholarly and arts journals and environments, including No More Potlucks. As a part-time faculty member at York (e.g. 2017: Advanced Methods in the PhD in Communications and Culture), and in the Department of Communication Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University, and previously at NSCAD and Concordia Universities, I obviously like to teach, research and learn.
Lucky to have worked on many great projects with several wonderful people, I’m always wondering how best to draw attention to present-day art, culture and media works, connections and communities.
